Va., was organized in November 1920 with a capital of $500,000 to consolidate the Long Powder & Supply Co., Empire Powder Corporation, Ashcraft Transfer Co. and Pennsylvania Powder Co.  It operated the plants of the different companies at LeRoy, N. Y.; Easton, Pa.; Rochester, N. Y.; Morgantown and Wilsonburg, W. Va. Company headquarters were at Clarksburg. J. Edgar Long was president and treasurer, and John A. Washington was vice-president and secretary.  On September 22, 1930, the Black Diamond Powder Co., Peerless Explosives Co. and Union Explosives Co. were merged and incorporated in Delaware as the Peerless-Union Explosives Corp.  In 1932 the Peerless-Union Explosives Corp. was purchased by the Atlas Powder Co.]
